| | On August 29, Atelier Vision is hosting Having the Courage of Your Perceptions conference at the prestigious Lighthouse one of Europe's largest Architectural Design Centers in Glasgow, Scotland. http://www.thelighthouse.co.uk/home.html This event is an official satellite event to The European Conference of Visual Perception, a meeting of the world's top vision scientists.
At this conference I will be giving the lecture The Golden Mean: Light, Form, and Spatial Depth in Painting. As a full-time artist I live off my work and as much as I love to lecture and write it is necessary for me to seek sponsorship for my expenses. My expenses for participating in this event will run about a 640 pounds, 535 for airfare from Rhodes, Greece to Glasgow and return, and the rest for the Hotel room. I will gladly give visual and verbal credit for sponsorship and, of course, confirm my receipts.
Speaking at the Atelier Vision's conference are notable artists and scientists, who will discuss the nature of 3 dimensional visual perception in art and reality. Many of the scientists speaking have been published in scholarly and computer journals about important developments of visual perception. The results of the conference will have important consequences for the computer industry, the art world, and for visual science. Bios upon request.
One important aspect about my talk will be the observation that identities (forms) are necessary element of human perception along with light and spatial depth. The connection of identities to perception is an important factor for the viability of subject matter in the visual arts.
