| | Hi Doug,
You wrote, Brad Turn sounds like he is a Rand influenced... Doug, as you have made clear in your post, there is no real correspondence between Rand and Trun, nor between Objectivism and Trun. And the same is true of anyone else's race-focused arguments. Trun's claim to be in tune with Rand or Objectivism is something that exists only in his mind. ------------------
You wrote, If you agree with Rand's central point about politics - that rights are moral principles that stem from a human's conceptual faculty, ie volition, and not the degree of intellectual capacity then you must believe in individual rights. Well, said. --------------
You wrote, What does racialism add to the moral / political debate? NOTHING. So true! ----------------- You wrote, Objectivist philosophy is the answer not race realism and political biologism.
We need more Ayn Rand inspired thinking and less Larry Austerism. Race realism Must lead to political collectivism and statism. Turn has proved that over and over in this thread. Yes. That is exactly where it would go.
I believe that every one of Trun's flawed arguments were successfully exposed here on RoR. It sounds like you have made your way out of that nasty rabbit-hole of pseudo-science. You nailed the moral and political arguments quite well in your post. The alleged scientific arguments vary, but many of them rest on a gross misunderstanding of human intelligence.
As an aside, people at this site will take different positions on the argument as to whether or not the government has the right to stop anyone from crossing the border and what the underlying issues are - but I don't think anyone (apart from Trun) would argue race.
