The Center For Inquiry (CFI) offers a mixed bag for Objectivists. They clearly have ample resources at their disposal and demonstrate a fierce dedication to reason, science and freethought. Unfortunately, their secular values sometimes violently clash with the Objectivist concept of individual liberty. As an example, one of its most visible supporters is animal rights advocate Peter Singer. Furthermore, their evaluation of man-made global warming as a hard scientific fact will no doubt raise the hackles of some Objectivists.
There may be instances when a SOLO Local Club can focus on a narrow goal with a CFI Campus Club, such as pooling resources to bring a speaker on evolution into town. These possible joint efforts, if properly evaluated, can benefit SOLO without aiding the worst values of CFI.
