I've read Zinn's book (and others as bad or worse) and agree with your characterization to a point. I can only agree to a point because I think you're being a little too kind to Zinn and his book. Still, I won't quibble.

Well said.

Your experience reminds me, and not happily, of the many equally or more revolting papers and texts I had to read as a philosophy major at UCLA.

Progressives have so thoroughly polluted the educational system in this country it is sometimes hard to see how it can ever be righted. And, yet, if it isn't, the country will inevitably complete its downward slide to becoming Sweden or worse.

The one bright spot I see is the explosion of information and sources available on the Internet. It makes it nearly impossible for the Left to entirely dominate the conversation. No wonder Sunstein is so interested in regulating it.

Your comment made me smile.

One of my goals this year involves reading (or listening to the audio version of) A Patriot's History of the United States by Schweikart and Allen -- a delayed vengeance on my high school tormentors.
