| | One more observation on the nature of evil, at the core of offensive behavior such as snooping. People that value life have the ethics of the trader, trading a positive value for positive value. In competitions, the goal is the achievement of excellence via the competition. A competition becomes a "game" (Transactional Analysis speak) when it is corrupted by ulterior motives, when it becomes a popularity contest masquerading as a legitimate contest.
"Politics - A strife of interests masquerading as a contest of principles" (Bierce).
Snoops are (legitimate) prestige-vandals which value destruction and ultimately death. They seek dirt and mud to fling at others in exchange of negative-values. Unknowing or unable to attain the legitimate prestige of traders, they choose to become social-vandals. The prime evil at the core is the snoops willingness to abuse others as a means to their end of achieving prestige, by being injured the least in an environment where negative-values (TA speak Brown-Stamps) are traded, rather than positive-values (Gold Stamps).
Another manifestation of the "Code of Peasants" - 'At least I'm not as bad off as the other poor bastards who are beaten worse'.
