A lovely statement, Mr. Rowlands. I wish I was so eloquent. I was recently at a bar with two friends when we slipped into a talk about politics. One defined herself as a socialist registered Democrat and the other defined herself as "more liberal than a democrat and a little more conservative than a communist." I gave it my best shot and they came up with "Who will provide milk to pregnant mothers on welfare?" *sigh* It's tough out there.
Anyway, thanks again. You made my day.

Sharon, thanks for the nice comments.  I'm glad you liked the article.  I don't really consider myself as much of an evangelist.  I don't think I've really tried very much in the past.  I usually focus on trying to explain things as clearly as possible, and letting that do the selling of the philosophy.  This was a different kind of article for me.  I'm glad you appreciated it.

Becky, thanks.  I'm glad you liked it.  I know exactly what you're talking about with your discussion with your friends.  I've had people argue that welfare was the only legitimate purpose of government and the military should be banned.  Something about at least the welfare benefits someone.  Ugh!  Good luck in the future with them.

Next time ask them who is going to pay the tab?  You happen to not have any money now and just assumed they would cover it for you.  If they make more money than you do, suggest that it is only just that they pay.  Maybe even have no money for real and see what happens?

If i could i would like to stay on subject. I agree with most of your outlook. Todays society is pathetic at best. It is completely interdependant. Everyone relys on others to make or sell what they should be creating and supplying themselves. They rely on Cops to protect them and teachers to teach them. But what many do not realize is those cops are human before they are the law. And those teachers are human before they teach. We can not rely on others whos intentions could be falsified. Those who sacrifice privacy for safety have neither. What we need is interdependance dependantly. I would like you to do something for me, look up and research the Mighty Samurai. The warring class of fuedal japan. Unlike most european "soldiers" ( whom by the way were mainly illiterate ), the samurai were extremely well rounded and intelligent. Japan relied only on themselves and what they could supply. They did not need to trade. I guess my point is you are correct. Nobody can rely on anybody except themselves. Because in the end it is your reality and your reality alone. We should not have to wait for god or derelicts to bring us a haven and good fortune when we could simply create it ourselves.
