Michael,

I love your use of light.

Thinking back on your previous work "composed" you seem to be going through a phase in your paintings, whereby you use natural looking illumination against a dark foreground. That conveys an optimistic outlook on life. I like it.

I like it. You must have spent hours observing the light, thinking how to capture this special atmosphere.

Thanks Marcus, Michael, Jeff, and Guido and all the others that wished me luck.

The opening reception was delightful. I was delighted to meet Jason, Kelly, and David there, though I didn�t have much time to talk with them�an opening for the artist is more like being inside a hurricane than a social event or celebration!

There were about 150 people there over the course of the evening and we sold 11 works so far. I have also been invited by another dealer to show some pieces this coming Friday in her Gallery.

I was also very happy to have a couple of great friends make the trip for the opening. Author and adventurer Jennifer Jordan http://www.harpercollins.com/global_scripts/product_catalog/author_xml.asp?authorid=27203 and architect Robert Mechielsen among them.
