 | My Fair Lady is the musical adaptation of the Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw's famous stage play, Pygmalion, which itself takes and runs with the Greek mythological story of the figure Pygmalion, a brilliant sculptor who is disgusted with the choice of females around him, and who sculpts his perfect woman from clay, and to whom the gods grant life.
The musical features Rex Harrison as the cheeringly objective Professor Henry Higgins, and Audrey Hepburn as the raw but brimming-with-potential, street urchin Eliza Doolittle. Those inclined towards Objectivism will love this movie, as Henry Higgins strives to undermine the corrupt morality of Victorian era London by thumbing his nose at social convention and transforming a dirty, street wandering flower girl into an erudite and formidable duchess.
Everything about this movie is heroic and brilliant, and ecstatically charming.
