 | Here is a movie that I saw on a whim one night when it was on cable. I was completely blown away. It's a comedy/drama about a young Austrailian ballroom dancer who wants to win the big Pan-Pacific Grand Prix dance competition. The comedy mostly revolves around the older people in the film including his parents, dance instructor, and the head of the league as they constantly attempt to force him in a certain direction. There is a nice romance between the lead and an beginner dancer who wants to dance with him, but the real thrust of the piece is the idea of individualism versus conformity. It's simply fantastic! |
