 | I would write a long epic review of this CD, but words would not do it justice (plus I'm to lazy). Just listen to it. It's not "Headbanging Caterwauling"...it goes under the "Post Rock" category, short for Post-Modern Rock ( I realize those are rather evil words). This category or "kind" of music can be relatively strange sometimes to say the least. It's emotional, haunting and beautiful. Turning out bands like Sigur Ros (whom I like also), Mogwai, Do Make Say Think, and Godspeed You Black Emperor.
These bands listed have some jewels, but a lot of filth to get through to find them. Explosions In The Sky, on the other hand, has tremendous talent. Anyone who loves emotionally ferocious music on different levels will enjoy it, anyone who loves guitar and noise with passion will love it. Oh, and by the way, there is no singing... it's all instrumental. In my opinion, this is one of the greatest bands I've ever heard.
