I Am America (and so can you !) by Stephen Colbert
Stephen Colbert : A good friend of Objectivism Wait, I know that some people are upset w/ his outrageous "sharing" statement in referance to Ayn Rand in his Objectivist sleepover segment, but you have to remeber this man is a parodist. He parodies outrageous assumptions about everything. And that paticular arguement is one I've had to dispel many times. He has ,in his sly amazing way, redirected and introduced further interest and conversation on Objectivism, Ayn Rand and Atlas Shrugged. He does this type of exposing and redirection, on many levels and with a keen on on allowing objective interpratation, with no regard and respect to partisan etc. beliefs that have even included his own (out of character, Catholicisim) religion. Summing up the OT, "After jesus showed up, the OT basically became a way for bible publishers to keep their word count up." On Atheism : "These no-goodnik no-godniks are growing in numbers and power in America. It makes me wonder how a god could exist who would allow people to piss me off so much." "Imagine going through life completely duped into thinking that theres no invisible, omniscent higher power guiding your every action on this earth- it's just so arbitrary ! Can't they see!?" In his chapter on science: "If I may quote myself : Reality has a well-known liberal bias. And who can you depend on to kow-tow to reality like it's the only game in town ? Scientists. They do it religeously. With their fanatical devotion, scientists are no better than cult members -only difference is that they put their blind faith in empirical observations instead of a drifter who marries 14 year-olds and declares himself the reincarnation of Ramses II." This and so much more can be found in "I Am America (and so can you !)
