BB&T, Est. 1872BB&T, Est. 1872
Quent Cordair

In this painting is a beautiful ultramodern skyscraper in the middle of farmland a small distance from a farm.  It's the setting and placement of the office building that makes this painting so utopian, I think.  Where's the infrastructure?  How do the people get to work?  Well, maybe they fly there or teleport there, or something, but wouldn't it be nice to be able to work in a modern building in the middle of nature like this (assuming you ahve the ability to travel elsewhere easily)?

The web site has this to say:

"The painting depicts BB&T’s corporate headquarters (located, in actuality, in downtown Winston-Salem) as rising from the fields of North Carolina, conveying the company's growth from its foundation as a small eastern North Carolina farm bank."
