From the Executive Director: Executive Update for May, 2005 Posted by Joseph Rowlands on 5/31, 8:30pm | ||
Another fast growing month for SOLO. We have over 100 new members, 57 new articles, 8 new authors, and 5400 posts to the forum. New users and those that have logged off recently may have noticed a new introduction section on SOLO's front page. There are a few paragraphs of introduction, a list of current statistics, and a list of articles to introduce people to the spirit of SOLO. For those who are already logged in, you can view the welcome message here. We just introduced a new feature to SOLO called "Holding Court" where Barbara Branden will do a weekly column where she answers readers questions. Her introduction is here. We've added a new interest group that's generated some excitement. SOLO Writing, led by Kernon Gibes, has been created to discuss all aspects of writing, including getting published, dealing with editor, and of course writing! We've also added a SOLO Tennessee local club, led by Kelly Reynolds Elmore. Again, if you are interested in creating a local club in your area, contact Luther Setzer for details. New Staff1.) Kernon Gibes is the new SOLO Writing Leader2.) Kelly Reynolds Elmore is the new SOLO Tennessee Coordinator New SOLOHQ Features:One new local club was created: SOLO Tennessee. One new interest group was created: SOLO Writing Barbara Branden just introduced her new weekly column titled "Holding Court". The front page has been modifed for anyone not logged in. It now displays a welcome message. You can view it here. I've modified the forum boards associated with local clubs or interest groups. They now display on the sidebar of the the main club page on each individual thread. This provides easy access to the club page and other links provided, as well as giving a slightly new look and feel for specialized threads. SOLO Feature review:SoloMail, available on the front page, has 3 different things you can click on.View Inbox - This link takes you to a full list of your SoloMail messages. These following two are the "send" and "read" buttons. The "Send" button creates a fresh SoloMail message for you to send. Clicking the "Read" button from the front page takes you to your first unread SoloMail message. This is a very handy shortcut to get you to the messages you haven't seen yet. Activism:Want to help take over the world? Here are some simple ideas you can do to help. 1.) Take this time to contribute money and help pay for SOLOHQ. We take credit card. 2.) Write articles. 3.)
