When the Soul Stalkers Come
by Paul Hibbert

When the Soul Stalkers Come

When the soul stalkers come

They ride on white horses

With beaming white smiles.

Then they turn ugly

Like mean crocodiles.

When the soul stalkers come.

When the soul stalkers come

They take what is given

And then they take more.

They gorge at your table,

Corrupt to the core.

When the soul stalkers come.

When the soul stalkers come

It’s happened before.

It can happen agin.

So, gird up your loins

You dasn’t give in.

When the soul stalkers come.

When the soul stalkers come

They steal all your virtues,

And convert them to sins.

It’s standard procedure

And how the world spins.

When the soul stalkers come.

When the soul stalkers come

It works like a drug.

You’re feeling no pain,

And when there’s no more

It drives you insane.

When the soul stalkers come.

When the soul stalkers come

They take all your freedom,

Constrain every action.

Any try at creation

Will be an infraction.

When the soul stalkers come.

How will I know when they’re coming?

How will I know, Daddy, dear?

You’ll not know when they’re coming.

You’ll not know, little laddie.

You’ll not know when they’re coming,

They’re already HERE!
